Visa & Passport

Bhutan does not issue visas out side the country. With your passport details tour operator will obtain your Visa clearances from the Ministry of Home cultural Affairs in Thimphu and forward clearance number before you depart for Bhutan. Druk Air tickets cannot be purchased without visa clearance. You cannot board Druk Air without visa numbers. Actual visa is stamped on arrival in Bhutan while visa is cleared in advance and a visa clearance number issued.

Following information shall be forwarded to us at least three weeks prior to date of travel, for processing visa with the concerned authorities
  • Full Name
  • Permanent Address
  • Place of Birth, Date of Birth
  • Nationality
  • Profession
  • Nature of Passport: Diplomatic / Official / Ordinary / UN Laissez Passer
  • Passport Number, Date of Issue, Place of Issue, Date of Expiry
  • Date & Duration of visit

For travelers entering the country by land from India, through the southern border town of Phuentsholing, the visa is stamped on arrival, as per visa clearance number. Travelers without a visa clearance number on record will not be permitted to enter the country.
Also please carry two copies of original passport size photos.
